Well we all want, or maybe not all...want those BIG BOUNCY CURLS right?? Well here are a few things you can do to get them & keep them in this summers blazing heat and humidity.
1. A suggestion for Thin, Fine, straight hair, is a light, yet firm holding hairspray, a thermal protectant spray, & a medium to large barreled flat or curling iron will be your best bet!
2. For thicker, course, or curly hair, I would suggest a ceramic flat iron, (helps fight frizzies) thermal spray, an anti-humectant, and a stronger hold hair spray!
3. For the average head of hair you can use either, it's all about the look you want to accomplish! Don't forget a thermal protectant though!
4 Also don't forget that your hair will probably relax a bit throughout your day or night, so buying a size smaller iron than what you what to accomplish is a good idea, to allow for a little relaxing.
5. PROFESSIONAL PRODUCTS!!! that"s one thing I will always stick to my guns on.. they make a HUGE difference!
Ok, let's get started on how we can accomplish this look!
First of all, make sure you have used a THERMAL PROTECTANT in your hair to help with damage during heat styling! Those of you with naturally curly, or course hair will also want to use an Anti-humectant, so the humidity doesn't ruin all your hard work.. DON'T BE ALARMED: some of these products will steam when you apply heat, so your not burning your hair..don't get worried!
Let's start by sectioning off your hair.. let's start from the bottom, so pull the top of your hair up and secure it in a clip.
Next depending on how curly you want the underneath to be( most people don't want to lose the look of to much length ), so curl those pieces a little more loosely, spray them with a small amount of spray.
Next you will section off another section of your hair, working your way from the bottom moving upwards. These curls you can curl a bit tighter (that's up to you), the direction of the curl is also your choice, personally I prefer to go both forward and backwards, but yet again that is your preference..give all three ways a shot.. (forward, towards your face, backwards, away from your face, and alternate forwards & backwards) to see which is to your liking!
Once you have reached the top layer... don't forget to apply a small amount of spray to each layer. Drop the top of your hair and curl it away from your face, now that your all curled, feel free to play around with it a bit..placing curls where you want them, and spray...or just let those great curls fall where they may!
HOPE THIS WAS HELPFUL!
